Local People s Views on Thermal Tourism: Case of Haymana District

The aim of this study is to examine the thermal tourism potential of Haymana district and the attitudes of local people about thermal tourism. 250 people participated in this study, which is a mixed research model. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher for the purpose of collecting data was applied. While SPSS 23.00 package program was used in the analysis of quantitative data, content analysis was used in the analysis of qualitative data. As a result of the study, the vast majority of the participants; They stated that thermal tourism activities brought prosperity to Haymana economically, provided new business areas and increased investments. In the views of the local people about the problems of thermal tourism in Haymana, the insufficiency of publicity and thermal facilities in the district, the unconsciousness of the people about tourism and the insufficiency of social life centers in the district came to the fore. Participants stated that in Haymana, increasing the investments for thermal tourism, attaching more importance to promotion and advertising activities, improving thermal facilities both quantitatively and qualitatively, increasing the number of social areas in the district and raising awareness of the public about thermal tourism. The participants think that thermal tourism will increase the population in the district and prevent migration, an economically more active environment will occur and this will contribute to trades, unemployment will decrease relatively, it will be an alternative tourism center and the people will develop culturally.
