Abstract
The purpose of this study, in internal migration in Turkey is to determine the location of Eskişehir. In the study, the data of TURKSTAT s Address Based Population Registration System for 2019 were used. From these data, provinces where Eskişehir has immigration deficit and migration surplus have been determined. Accordingly, the results achieved are as follows: The provinces with which Eskişehir has immigration deficit are; İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Antalya, Kocaeli, Bursa, Muğla, Tekirdağ, Balıkesir, Aydın, Yalova and Çanakkale. If Ankara province is excluded, it is seen that the provinces in which Eskişehir has immigration deficit are the coastal provinces starting from Istanbul and extending to Antalya. This shows that those registered in the research field want to live in both socio-economically developed and seaside provinces. On the other hand, Eskişehir has a surplus of migration against all other provinces of the country. However, the most prominent of these are; Afyonkarahisar, Bilecik, Konya, Ağrı, Kütahya, Samsun, Erzurum and Kars provinces. The fact that the city of Eskişehir, with its developed industry and trade, promises hope for those who experience economic difficulties is effective in attracting the population who migrated from within the country to the study area. In addition, the attraction of Eskişehir city with its education, culture, health and social activity centres is also effective in the migration of those who want to improve the quality of life to the research field.
