Cost Analysis of Construction Waste from Urban Transformation: “Kayseri Küçükali Neighborhood Example ”

Today, as a result of warped urbanization and urban transformation works, construction and demolition wastes are produced. By recycling and re-using metals such as wood, glass, plastic as well as iron, steel and copper as construction wastes, environmental pollution will be reduced by preventing the depletion of natural resources. In this study, the reasons of construction and demolition wastes were investigated. In recent years, there have been major demolitions in urban areas, especially in residential areas which are urban transformation areas. There is no and / or insufficient studies on the waste to be generated as a result of these demolitions. This is true for all of Turkey s large and small cities. In this study; It has been tried to determine the construction and demolition wastes in the Küçükali neighborhood in Kayseri Melikgazi district, the usage areas in recycling and the cost spent for the management of the wastes. In addition, it has been investigated how local governments can recycle or eliminate construction wastes which are considered as solid wastes. The issue of profit and loss cost by recycling methods of waste is analyzed. It is hoped that the study will contribute to the efforts of local administrations and institutions and individuals working on the issue.
