Abstract
The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between high technology exports and growth in OECD countries. The study tests the causality between high technology exports and growth in 36 OECD countries for the period 1999-2017. The share of high technology exports in total OECD countries (%) and economic growth rate per year (%) variables were used for each country. In this study, panel causality analysis was used. Pesaran CD test and Friedman test for horizontal cross-sectional dependence, Swamy S test for homogeneity and Westerlund (2007) panel cointegration test for homogeneity were used. In addition, Dumitrescu Hurlin (2012) panel causality test was applied for determining causality. As a result of the analysis; it is concluded that there is one-way causality from economic growth to high technology exports.
