Abstract
This study discusses the positions of modernism and postmodernism in the postmodern age in the context of morality in general and human/women s rights in particular. The main claim of the article is that modernist epistemology, despite its postmodern rupture, is still influencing international debates on morality. Examples of this are given through current human rights/women s rights organizations. These examples are discussed with links to orientalism, colonialism, and modernism.
