Abstract
This article, which examines the studies on increasing the activities related to agriculture and animal husbandry in the Ottoman Empire in the second half of the 19th century, in Ankara Province in particular, was prepared in line with the information and current sources in the Ankara Province Annuals and the Province Newspaper. In the study, information was given about the general situation of agriculture and animal husbandry and agricultural products grown in Ankara. In order to increase agricultural production since Tanzimat, efforts to open new agricultural lands and increase productivity on available lands were carried out. In this sense, it was important for the immigrants who came to Anatolia to settle in new agricultural lands and to set an example for the local people in agriculture. With the Anatolian Railway line reaching Ankara, it was observed that agricultural trade gained dynamism. The situation of animal husbandry in Ankara was explained in line with the data in the provincial annuals. Information was given about the situation of angora in 19th century, which was an important source of income for the people of the region, and the studies carried out on the reclaim of the Angora goat.
