Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to develop a multiple choice test about middle school students spatial relations skills. In the test development phase, after taking expert opinion for content and face validity, the six items were removed from the test and the test with 24 item was applied to 303 seventh-grade student for validity and reliability studies. In order to determine the factor structures of the test, explanatory factor analysis was performed via the Tetrachoric Correlation Matrix between the items and a two-factor structure was obtained by being removed the two items from the test. Afterwards, confirmatory factor analysis was performed by using the Asymptotic Covariance Matrix and the Weighted Least Squares Method in order to determine whether the twofactor structure of the test was confirmed as a model. Since the factor loading of the one item was less than .30 and the error variance was greater than .90, the item was extracted from the test and it was seen that the two-factor structure had sufficient fit index. Item analysis was performed for the remaining 21 items; the test was found to be moderately difficult and highly distinctive which consists of items with different difficulty levels and highly distinctive. The KR-20 internal consistency coefficient was calculated to be 0.79 for the first factor, 0.73 for the second factor and .74 for the entire test.
