Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the positive and negative reflections of the new transition system into secondary education, LGS, through the eyes of the parents. The participants of this study, which is conducted as a case study among the qualitative research methods, consist of nine parents identified by maximum variation sampling method. We have analyzed the data, collected through semi-structured interview form, through NVivo 10.0 program. We have created categories and themes taking into consideration the similarities and differences in line with the codes which arise out of the interviews. We concluded that parents generally have differeint opinions about the content of LGS, new transition system to secondary education, and LGS has not lived up to the expectations of the parents. Furthermore, we have concluded that parents have some doubts that address-based registration system may have some negative results. We observed that parents have provided some suggestions on the system such as make-up exams, adding social activity participation grades and school success grades to the exams.
