THE OPINIONS OF THE PROSPECTIVE CLASSROOM TEACHERS ON THE APPLICATIONS OF VIRTUAL MUSEUM

The aim of the research is to determine the opinions of the prospective classroom teachers on the applications of virtual museum. The study group consists of 41 students studying in the fourth year of the Department of Primary Education at Giresun University. The data was collected with an open-ended questionnaire developed by researchers during the fall semester of 2017-2018 academic year and analyzed with content analysis technique. Research results show that many of the prospective classroom teachers did not have real or virtual museum educational experience during their undergraduate studies. On the other hand, the prospectives consider that the virtual museum education is necessary for professional competence in undergraduate education. They also think that the virtual museum applications in primary school education are useful for students. Based on the results of the research, it is recommended to associate the various courses taught in the bachelor s degree program with the virtual museum applications.
