    THE OPINIONS OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ON EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND EFFECTIVE TEACHER BEHAVIOR

  • Abstract
    The most important key to a successful education is the teacher. In the quality of education, teacher effectiveness plays a decisive role. In today s world where the traditional education approach is getting lost, the role of both the student and the teacher in the education process is changing. The most important task of the teacher together with the changing roles is to create the necessary behaviors to provide an effective learning environment. The main purpose of this study, which examines effective teacher behaviors, is to investigate the opinions of secondary school students about effective learning and effective teacher behaviors. This research, which was designed using quantitative research method, was designed as a screening design and a cross- sectional research type was used. The data were obtained from 611 secondary school students who continue their education at Tokat city center by using a triple likert type scale named as Effective Learning and Effective Teacher Behaviors. The data obtained were analyzed with SPSS program in terms of frequency, percentage and score and interpreted. In addition, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis Test were used to analyze the differences between gender and grade levels. According to the results of the study, teachers generally offered effective teacher behavior. In addition, female students found teachers lesson processing strategies more effective than male students.
