Abstract
It provides information about the personality traits of individuals and how they react in which situations. Thanks to this information, it can be stated that it is possible to prevent cases such as burnout and cynicism before they occur. Therefore, it is thought that determining the personality traits of teachers who provide labor-intensive service is important at this point. In line with this importance, this research, in which quantitative research method is preferred. It was carried out to determine the mediating role of general cynicism on the effect of type-A personality traits of teachers working in secondary education institutions on burnout. Within the scope of the research, data was collected from 242 teachers working in official schools in Denizli province in the 2018 and 2019 academic year by face-to-face survey method. As a result of the analysis performed on the said data, it was determined that there was a significant relationship between the variables, and type-A personality traits had a significant effect on burnout and cynicism. In addition, it has been determined that general cynicism has a high level of partial mediator role in the effect of type-A personality traits on burnout.
