Abstract
The main objective of this study is to determine the opinions of Social Studies teacher candidates on the usage of museum at social studies teaching. The study group is comprised of 39 men 36 women, including a sum of 75 teacher candidates studying as the 3rd and 4th graders at Abant Izzet Baysal University and Gazi University Social Science Education Department. While using data collection tool in the study which was conducted through qualitative research methods, descriptive analysis technique was used in the analysis of data. It was concluded that the majority of social studies teacher candidates see themselves qualified enough but also not in planning museum trips in the implementation stage. In the study, as a result of these findings, it was suggested that the course of museums and historical places should be given practically, and to give necessary information, skills and values to the teacher candidates and the museums are to be used effectively in general education.
