Abstract
The eddy currents induced in flat screens of an EPR spectrometer microwave cavity by a time-harmonic modulating magnetic field are analysed. The screens are assumed to be thin as compared to the skin depth and the eddy currents are considered as surface currents. The problem is formulated as an integro-differential equation using a scalar potential representation of eddy currents. The numerical solution is performed by means of the finite element method. The results show the influence of additional cuts in the screen on electromagnetic field quantities.
