Abstract
The power of the multiple multipole (MMP) methods, or the generalized multipole (GMP) technique, is demonstrated. Using this approach, the behavior of the electric field as well as the magnetic field (and thus eddy current) in the direct neighborhood of a geometric singularity is shown. For this purpose, two cylinders, one with a conical top and the other with a spherical top, have been investigated. The results of the computations are compared to observe with more accuracy the effect of the sharp edge. For both bodies, the material is lossy (semiconductor). The results showed that the programs give good results even for bodies with edges, without the need to implement special features
