  • Abstract
    Using the microbending losses measured for fibres with various outer diameters, two successive RMS fits lead to a parameter which characterises the fibre packaging under test, relative to microbends. The procedure described in the letter stresses the influence of the fibre outer diameter on the sensitivity to microbends.
