  • Abstract
The role of the corporate IT has steadily evolved over the past 25 years. Unfortunately, most executives know neither where IT fits in their organization nor what it should be doing. To maximize corporate productivity, IT departments must recast themselves to do what they were meant to do: Understand all factions (including customers) within a company and how they should interact, ensure that all required information is available exactly when and where it is needed, make it easy for customers to do business with the company, and take a proactive role in implementing this vision throughout the company
