Abstract
Infrared camera images are used to calculate the power deposited on a target by a millimeter wave source. Thin carbon-impregnated sheets of Kapton are illuminated with RF energy, and then infrared images in the 3-5 μm band provide temperature data that is used to numerically solve the heat equation and obtain absorbed power values. Techniques to determine the electrical properties of Kapton up to 94 GHz were developed.
