Abstract
A method is described for estimating the available slope (dB/ deg) for the design of a sharp cutoff radiation pattern with a given aperture size, sidelobe level, and ripple factor. Curves are presented which relate slope factor (dB/deg/wavelength of aperture), sidelobe level, and ripple factor. These curves are obtained by defining and evaluating a Chebyshev integral pattern function which is representative of a sharp cutoff radiation pattern.
