Abstract
A class of rational systems is introduced that exhibit a γ-homogeneous magnitude response or, equivalently, are scale-invariant for a prescribed scale change. The systems are characterized by the cascade of frequency-scaled replicas of a prototype rational function that satisfies certain conditions so that the magnitude response is γ-homogeneous. Additionally, if the prototype is minimum phase, then the phase response is also γ-homogeneous. This class of systems is useful for modeling 1/f spectral behavior and constant phase phenomena
