  • Abstract
    The performance of a laser amplifier, with active stabilisation of the output power in a 280 Mbit/s repeatered optical fibre system, is reported. The stabilisation technique automatically adjusts the laser amplifier gain to compensate for changes in external environmental and optical effects.
