Abstract
In attempting to measure, in situ, the audio frequency complex resistivity of geological media, electromagnetic coupling can complicate the process. We show by way of a simple example that these electrochemical and electromagnetic effects are inextricably intertwined. Attempts to separate these phenomena by data processing should be viewed with caution.
