Abstract
A new process, extrusion/compaction, has been described for making NdFeB magnets that have good magnetic properties in the radial direction and that would be considerably lower in cost than the present NdFeB magnets. Typical properties in the radial direction are Br of 7,900 gauss, Hc of 7,000 Oe, Hci of 16,800 Oe, and BHmax of 13.8 MGOe.
