  • Abstract
The influence of crosstalk noise and over write noise to bit shift characteristics is investigated in TbFeCo magnetooptical recording media in order to realize high density digital recording. The thermomagnetic recording and readout experiments clarify the following points : (1) Bit shift increases with the crosstalk. If the crosstalk is larger than about -30 dB, bit shift depends mostly on the crosstalk in condition that SNR is 27 dB. (2) Insufficient erase power induces the residual signal. The residual signal of larger than about -30 dB causes the bit shift to increase for SNR of 27 dB. (3) Insufficient erase magnetic field induces the random noise. The random noise causes the bit shift due to Gaussian distribution to the read-out signals
