  • Abstract
    A simple model describing the change in mode-partition noise as a function of modulating frequency, modulation depth, and dispersion in a microwave SCM, fiber optic transmission system is presented with experimental verification. The effects of temperature on laser intensity and mode-partition noise are also explored. Longitudinal mode distribution associated with low and high noise levels are identified
