  • Abstract
    For fine α-Fe particles prepared from acicular α-FeOOH.particles industrially, intergrain-misfitting effects (taken as a concept of "crystalline-defects") were numerically studied by a "Chain-of-Spheres" Fanning-Model[:CSFM]. CSFM is based on an "interaction-anisotropy" developed by Jacobs and Bean and modified recently by the author to apply to various types of particle-morphology. Theoretical results are compared with experiments. It is shown that the introduction of "crystalline-defects" into the theory provides linear decreasing of coercivity for the chain aligned along an external field and its smooth angular-variation. This trend explains the experimentally-observed behaviour for very fine α-Fe.particles. An application of the model theory for multigrain-type particles is discussed and compared with experimental results.
