Abstract
Single-mode fibres were inserted in one arm of a classical Mach-Zehnder interferometer, illuminated with a light source having a broad spectral width. A simple numerical Fourier transform method, applied to a single interferogram, leads to the variations in neff(¿) over a broad ¿-range. The chromatic dispersion is then derived via numerical differentiation.
