Abstract
The minimum value of the shunt capacitance is derived and is expressed in terms of the specified parameters of the amplifier. If the shunt capacitance is selected to be larger than this minimum value, the output power of the amplifier cannot reach the desired level. The effect of the shunt capacitance and the choke inductor on the output performance of class E amplifier is also illustrated
