  • Abstract
    The capacitance of a periodic pixel in a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel is first investigated using the discrete Fourier transform (DFT). The method is also useful for calculating the electric field in the LC cell and to predict the Freedericksz transition. Methods for reducing the capacitance to obtain a high density LCD panel are also suggested
