  • Abstract
The spatial-harmonic magnetron (SHM) is an effective source of millimeter-wave radiation. A theory, based on an equivalent network approach, is proposed for self-consistent modeling of such magnetrons. The theory accounts for multimode interactions, formation of doublets, and transient processes. Simulation results are presented to illustrate main features of both transient and steady-state magnetron behavior. These results are compared with experimental data for an 8-mm wave SHM with cold secondary-emission cathode.
