Abstract
The split step method is used to model collimated beam optical propagation in a two-dimensional turbulent atmosphere with power law spectrum of the refractive index fluctuations. The authors present the intensity scintillation index in the weak and moderate scattering conditions for Gaussian beam radii 5 and 20 mm
