Abstract
The operation characteristics of the mirrorless electrooptic nonlinear device are examined theoretically and experimentally, when two signals, proportional to the input and output optical powers, or proportional to two outputs orthogonal to each other, are applied additively or subtractively to the electrooptic crystal. The results show that similar performances may be achieved for two different schemes and that application of two signals allows the device to operate in a more versatile manner. The effect of the extinction of the light modulator on the operation characteristics is also discussed.
