[From the Editor]

Over the past several decades, researchers in the circuits and systems (CAS) discipline have made remarkable contributions to the development of fundamental circuit and system theories that have led to fruitful realizations of a wide range of applications and innovative technologies in communications, computing, biomedicine, networked systems, power management, energy systems, control, networked systems, robotics, remote sensing, and so on. In the past decade, our CAS society has taken an active step in optimizing our impact on the development of emerging research areas (those not currently considered within our traditional scope) by extending our coverage beyond the conventional CAS discipline, accommodating important emerging areas and facilitating their integration with our mainstream research areas. This Magazine has been devoted to promoting the integration of emerging research topics with our core development in circuits and systems. Our Magazine will continue to play an active role in promoting creativity and innovation, and we welcome contributions that bring new ideas and perspectives that would inspire creativity and innovation. Expositions of crossdisciplinary research and emerging topics for the general and non-specialist readership are particularly welcomed. We strive to maintain the highest quality of our publication and to address the widest possible range of interest of our general CAS audience. To do this, the efforts of my team of dedicated Associate Editors and the anonymous reviewers are indispensable, and their professional and timely evaluations of submissions are highly appreciated.
