Abstract
We demonstrate that in a subcarrier multiplexed optical transmission system the BER induced by laser clipping is strongly dependent on the frequency location of the digital channel. Our analysis shows that the variation in the BER with channel frequency can be predicted by taking into account the turn-on delay of the laser diode.
