Abstract
A novel high speed photodetector-amplifier combination has been fabricated by using a distributed amplifier and pin photodiode. The experimental results show that a 3 dB bandwidth of 20 GHz with 13 dB gain was achieved with measured input equivalent noise current around 20 pA/(Hz)½ in a band from 2 to 18 GHz
