Abstract
The older version of the deflection-mode magnetic dry rotating disk separator has been improved by integrating a belt which forms a moving boundary to outside. The separation process has been considerably simplified, and the product quality has been enhanced with a matching flux density profile. Forces are basically similar to an isodynamic separation mode. A cost estimation based on permanent magnet excitation shows an interesting potential of the improved separator
