Abstract
Under the leadership of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ) an international ad hoc consortium developed an aluminium stabilized superconducting cable for future detector magnets. With the financial support of the Board of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, this R&D work was carried out for the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, CERN. In a first step an aluminium stabilized test conductor for the CMS detector magnet was produced and now in a second one 200 m conductor for the ATLAS racetrack coil is under construction. In this report the manufacturing process is described and results of the quality control measurements are summarized. The tests results show that the industrial manufacturing of an aluminium stabilized superconducting cable is feasible
