Abstract
This paper is concerned with proposing a possible mechanism of interaction of extremely low frequency (ELF) electric fields and biological matter through an analytical model of a cell suitable to explain the tissue anisotropy ratios experimentally found, and with attempting a possible insight into the debated problem of biological effects on living organisms coupled to power-frequency high-voltage sources.
