A brief description of representative VSAT (very small aperture terminal) networks is presented. The samples were selected to provide a realistic picture about the VSATs current status. The discussion covers Telesat Canada´s VSAT networks and services; NICNET, the Indian government´s VSAT information network; VSAT network developments in Europel; AT&T´s VSAT networks and services; and six private VSAT networks.<>
