  • Abstract
We show that impairments related to stimulated Brillouin scattering in radio-over-fiber transmission can be strongly suppressed with the proper choice of a segmented single-mode optical fiber. As a result, low error vector magnitude (EVM) can be achieved for remote antenna feeding of IEEE 802.11a/g wireless LAN signals, resulting in <1% EVM degradation after 20-km transmission at 14 dBm.
