Abstract
This paper presents a one-dimensional position measurement for a suspended object in a large-gap magnetic suspension system which allows wider range of control. The position measurement system uses a linear photosensor array to detect the position of the suspended object. The proposed measurement is simple, effective, and less expensive than other methods in large-gap magnetic suspension systems
