Automatic antenna gain measurement at high frequencies

For antenna gain measurement, the Purcell method needs the displacement of a reflecting plane at several distances. The authors propose the substitution of the distance variation by a suitable frequency variation. Mechanical problems due to plane displacement are avoided and an automated measuring method is obtained. Results are given in Ka and W bands with good accuracy.
