Abstract
Compact pulsed field solenoids wound from various conductors including copper/stainless steel and a copper-niobium microcomposite are described. Fields up to 63 T were achieved over half sine pulsed lengths of order 10 ms in bores of 12 to 20 mm. The extension of the technology to 2 and 3 section coils is discussed
