Abstract
The first 10 Gbit/s DWDM transmission at 12.5 GHz spacing without polarisation division multiplexing or polarisation interleaving is demonstrated. This dense channel spacing is accomplished via vestigial sideband filtering and 8×10 Gbit/s has been transmitted over 200 km of SMF-28 fibre.
