  • Abstract
    An exact analytical model for the output power and the threshold of an erbium-doped fibre Fabry-Perot laser (EDFFPL) is presented. The only assumption is zero spontaneous emission. The expressions are valid for both 980 and 1480 nm pumping. The results show the expected linear relationship between pump and signal above threshold in explicit form
