  • Abstract
    A mathematical model is proposed of the cascade electron multiplication in a channel of microchannel plate (MCP), when the effects of space charge and surface charging can be ignored. The functional equations for evaluation of the MCP single electron impulse characteristics are obtained. The results are given of the calculation of the gain, pulse-height, and time distribution of a single electron signal
