Abstract
An atmospheric-pressure (AP) cold helium plasma jet is induced by an argon plasma discharge generated in a single-electrode configuration at AP. The dependences of the length of the downstream and upstream helium plasma jets on the angle between gas flow directions of helium and argon, the applied voltage on the single electrode, and the gas flow rate of helium are investigated experimentally. In addition, the gas temperature of the induced helium plasma jet is determined by measuring the optical emission spectrum of the first negative band of N2 +B-X(0, 0) and fitting it with the synthesized spectrum.
