Abstract
In this paper a novel rule based controller is developed for comfort improvement of a semi-active suspension system. The controller is developed using the results from a model predictive controller (MPC) which is designed for minimal vertical acceleration, taking into account the actuator constraints. It is shown that a controller can be designed that improves ride comfort significantly and can be implemented in real-time.
