Abstract
This paper presents the achievements of Charles P. Steinmetz, the pioneering mathematical physicist who made the complexities of alternating current machinery and circuits understandable to the world. One of his many diverse interests was the development of a practical, inexpensive electric motor vehicle that could successfully compete with vehicles fueled by gasoline. The operations, advantages and disadvantages of the electric car over a gasoline-fuelled car is given in this paper.
