President's Message

It is with great pleasure and a sense of duty, that I have taken up the position of President of the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society. I want to thank Dick Jaeger for his guidance and wise suggestions during the preceding years; I know I will be able to count on him, and I appreciate it. The Society is most famous for its Journal of Solid-Sate Circuits and its conferences, all of which will have to be rethought to find an answer to the surge in multimedia tools. Virtual journals, virtual conferences, and Xplore are being discussed on various levels; actions have already been taken and will be followed up. Recent AdCom Chair appointments are Bill Bidermann for the Meetings Committee and Glenn Gulak for the Publications Committee, with Bram Nauta as General Editor of the Journal. This is a new team indeed. I am looking forward to working with all of them towards a better SSCS.
