Abstract
This paper proposes an efficient implementation of enhanced min-sum algorithm (EMSA) for DVB-S2 LDPC decoding. In order to minimize complexity of check node update, the proposed method uses forward and backward algorithm. Simulation results show that the EMSA does not cause serious performance degradation, as compared with sum-product algorithm when decoder input is 9-bit quantized.
